handmade wide lacquered silver birch cylindrical shade made from natural wood which will gradually attain a warm honey colour over a period of years.
the shade is supported on a satin polished stainless steel column.
 
this moon base was sculpted from a tree over 180 years old.
 
this sculpted moon base can be turned easily by hand to revolve around on its discrete platform, and thus you can position it to view any side or face of the moon sculpture, whilst the shade above with all the lighting remains stationary wow !

This was an inspired design and a very lengthy sculpting along with an extended time also developing all the internal tech within the shade.
So will another ever be made, well you have to understand that for me the shaping and sculpting of wood, even in such a free form, is not something that can be repeated on a daily basis as it requires artistic merit, something that is rather intangible and not available like pressing a machine switch.

    All popswood.uk floor lights are Design Copyrighted and registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office.

    height 215cm  diameter of shade 50cm  weight 78kg

    provides superior light output - 136 LED watts ! in total of lighting supplied by 3 separate lighting circuits.

    each circuit is controlled by both a touch dimmer switch on the front of the shade and a separate dimmer remote control unit.

    1 lower circuit of 4 x 7 watt led GU10 lamps downlights through the open bottom of the shade onto the europa moon base.

    2 upper circuits each of 3 x 18 watt led E27 gls globe lamps uplight through the open top of the shade.

    to achieve the lowest running costs and the greenest credentials it is essential to use leds which also run much cooler.

    a usb charger is located at the side of the shade and is the latest high ouput Necteck 4 outlet usb C and usb A (5 to 20 volt) 60 watt charger, the fastest output available for all your mobile devices, and adjacent is a master on/off switch.

    a long mains decorative robust flex is installed discretely through the middle of the wood base and up through the stainless steel column (quality design & build).

    all lights come supplied with quality EU manufactured lamps (bulbs).

    uk 3-pin plug fitted fused at 5 amp or Euro 2-pin plug as applicable.
    all electrical items and equipment are of the latest design fully tested and CE marked.
